As an artist, I'm interested in contemporary colour interplay, abstraction, and organic shapes and textures that work well in a design layout or Pop! from a wall. My artwork can be bright, optimistic, often vibrant in colour, energetic in composition, fun and whimsical. HOWEVER, it can also be tonal with an introspective sensibility. My work in black and tinted greys is influenced by Zen practices, sumi-e paintings and travel in Korea and Japan. It’s more grounded in subtle gestures and contemplative practices.

I also use photography as part of the creative process, extracting deeper compositions from my work with the eye of a graphic designer – before or after the artwork is complete.

My personal theme for 2026 is Intuition and Integration. I’m searching for clarity between my differing styles and answering ‘what next’ questions with my discoveries.

2025 was my Year for Painting Dangerously. You can see some of my discoveries below. I enjoyed saturated abstracts, botanicals, marine plants from the shores of Beaumaris, Zen mountainscapes and sumi-e ink painting.
